Almost a year ago, itsfoss had an article saying that PopOS was dev/ing
its own Cosmic DE in Rust instead of just a customized Gnome
(currently). Whatever happened to that plan? I haven't seen any dev news.

    https://news.itsfoss.com/pop-os-cosmic-rust/ Oh, Wow! Pop!_OS Linux
Devs Are Creating a New Rust-based Desktop Environment Nov 8, 2021

That article was based on remarks that Michael Murphy, a system76 dev,
    made in Reddit.

I wonder if that idea has been dropped or if it is still going on
    beneath the radar.

nevermind; dev on Rust Cosmic proceeds. I've found more comments.
Apparently it has a ways to go and we won't see anything useful until
    next year.

I changed to manjaro keeping xfce-flavor from xubuntu.
Installed easily, reliable - after 6 years still running as rolling
realease, enhanced software from AUR without need to run snap&Co.

In daily use I don't notice, if it's xubuntu or manjaro, but there are
noch upgrades to be run only regular updates. Both by GUI, also kernel
    can be chosen freely.

Nice distro run by archlinux (you have to know few about that).
    Friendly community!

Arch wiki is the 'world's greatest' wiki IMO. TOC page https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Table_of_contents

DistroWatch Jessee Smith last reviewed Manjaro (KDE) in '21 Apr; that
article links to hundreds of positive reviews at DW, dozens for the XFCE specifically.

Mjo is my favorite Arch. My fave Ub is Mint & its Cinnamon; Mint also
    eschews Ub's Snap.
