    This is the electric vehicle thats going to win me over, period.

    Theres a great Youtube video on Ubox Therapy... just search Ford F-150 Lightning Electric Just Changed the Game ft. Peter McKinnon - sorry, I'm not going to link it...

    300mi range. Over 15 household 120V plugs. A front frump, a trunk in the front. Yes, the Platinum trim is going to run $60,000 - but... this truck will last 10 years and is... OMG.

    I drive trucks. I drive big, mean, nasty, gas guzzling trucks. I drive them far. I drive them hard. I sell the ***k out in them. I work in them. I jam crazy music in them. The bed has a scale in it; without any load, it will go 400+ miles... it IS the electric vehicle that I'm going to buy.

    I am so happy that big auto created; it goes 0-60 4 seconds. It beats the gassers in almost every aspect - and the creature comforts... Oh My Lord.

    I'm gonna buy an electric Ford F-150 just as soon as the first adopter pricing goes away... [I once bought a brand new Expedition for $10k more than one year later...]

    Anybody else looking at this truck with bated eyes and ready with their bank accounts? I will be rolling this truck. It is freaking awesome. I think I'm gonna splurge for the Platinum trim.... :P I want the beep boops that make me feel good. 15" tablet screen... its out of this world. I'm glad I'm alive for this revolution.

    Call me a luddite, but I just can't get behind electric vehicles in their current incarnations. Don't get me wrong, 400 miles is fairly compelling, but I *hate* the idea of not being able to carry or store additional fuel. Look at issues like the Texas grid failure or California's frequent rolling blackouts. Yes, you're still dependent on *some* form of fuel distribution, but I can store several hundred miles' worth of liquid fuel on top of what's in my tank. What am I going to do, carry a decent generator and 50 gallons of fuel?

    Plus, think about cross-country road trips; even if it takes an hour to go from 0% to 100% (assuming you can find a charger), you're still wasting more time than the ten minutes you'd spend at the pump. If you go 800 miles a day (80MPHx10 Hours), you've now turned your 10 hour day into an 11 hour day.

    Let's not even talk about the cybersecurity risks, or the failures of ever more integrated systems.

    Well... I live in Oregon now, and Texas / California otherwise... the cold won't hurt ME - but I hear you...

    I use vehicles for my work, usually I switch every 6 weeks or so... so I've driven a lot of different makes and models of trucks/SUVs. Ford didn't jump into electric quick, and I REALLY think they are gonna be a big player - with these F150s and other REGULAR electric vehicles.

    If I purchase, I might wanna wait until year #2... but I'm pretty sure I'll be rocking a Lightning. :P

    ... Do device drivers need a chauffeur's license?

    Think about this one, tho... I drive 50,000 miles a year - mostly in daily chunks of 250mi sections. [Work travel.] I spend as little as $20 and up to $100 per day in fuel... average is $40-60... thats an easy $1000/mo in addition to the vehicle and insurance costs. I'm usually out the door at 7am and back before 3p. 5p if its a long day...

    No, I wouldn't want an electric vehicle as my ONLY transportation, but this F150 isn't some niche luxury, sports or small-utility vehicle like the other electrics that are available. While its gonna be expensive, it doesn't cost $70,000 and up. Its gonna come in ROUND ABOUT standard F-150 prices.

    For a guy like me, AND for many other professionals who use these kinds of vehicles for work or a fleet of trucks for their business, they start to make a LOT of cents... and dollars.

    They are faster, quieter, have more cargo, 'horsepower' and features. Electricity is available and cheap compared to gasoline... and thats all before we talk about how fossil fuel vehicles, in the years to come, are going to be SO hurtful to our environment. The future is here; it has 14" LCD screens and technology to the gills.

    I can't f-in wait!!!!
