    As the MSX machines weren't that popular in Germany, I didn't came in
    contact with one back in the days and I don't have one now.

    I have a small collection of old 8 bit computers, mostly Commodore: 64,
    128, 128D and 128DCR.

    Also, I've built two kits, an RC2014 Pro and a SC126.
    These are Z80/Z180 based machines, capable of running CP/M.
    I've also created cases for them and added terminal modules and floppy drives, so they are self-contained computers.

    I have an Atari 130XE with FujiNet that I use to connect sometimes, but
    mostly I use an Apple IIgs (16-bit) with UtherNet II card. I can get 80
    columns from both of those.

    I also have a Spectrum clone (Harlequin) with SpectraNet and a TI-99/4A with TIPI, but haven't been able to get 80 columns out of those yet.

    As MSX computers also use Z80s, it's not that hard :)

    Normaly I connect my MSX2 + Ethernet cartridge to FsxNet.

    Very nice!
    I've also built some ESP8266-based "Wifi modems" which use AT commands to
    act as modems.
    I just do have to use it more often... :)

    I am using an MSX turboR, but sometimes I use other MSX models, always connected with an ethernet cartridge. Nowadays all my ethernet cards are Tecnobytes Obsonets.

    Great computer (Msx TR) :)
    Now I am triying some new ways to connect MSX to the net with Rs232+ESP8266 chip.
    There is also a new project called DROMOROBO to connect your Msx to the BBS's using the old Msx dialup modems.

    I have on Sony HitBit MSX Computer here in my Computer Museum. Do you know a Terminal Programm i could use to connect to a BBS?

    MSX Modems are not so common to use nowadays, I guess most MSX users connect using some kind of network card. A good place to ask for those cards is http://www.msx.org.

    I am using Obsonet Ethernet cards from Tecnobytes (http://www.tecnobytes.com.br) you can ask if they are building a new batch.

    Another source of MSX network cards is Eugeny Brychkov, which sells the
    GR8NET multi-function cartridge. You can reach him sending email to info_AT_gr8bit.ru.

    I hope this can help you to connect your MSX to a BBS

    You can connect to the BBS's with:
    - BaDCat wifi cartridge.
    - Obsonet Ethernet cartridge.
    - GR8NET ethernet cartridge
    ... and if you have only a rs232 cartridge you can plug in easily an Nodemcu8266 + COM6 Terminal toconnect with ANSI full color :)
    You can find these Msx cartridges easily with google, if you need more info, write me :)

    Not in Msx.
    A few models have rs232 port and also you can insert an rs232 cartridge.

    Not in Msx.

    Would've thought someone would get there... still... PPP or Slip over serial is usually the easiest, I say easiest, tricky but usually possible for most platforms with a serial port :)

    The Internestor Lite have a serial driver, thi is the same TCP/IP stack used
    by most MSX network interfaces. If you have an MSX with a built in RS232 or a RS232 interface you can try to use it.

    Two attention points:

    1. You will need to have an available Fossil Driver to your card;
    2. The InterNestor's developer doesn't have an working RS232 interface, so
    the serial driver is stuck in version 2.0

    There is also an UNIX implementation for MSX computers, called UZIX, which includes a TCP/IP stack with a SLIP and PPP support and also some network utilities, including telnet. In the 90's it was used to connect to ISP in MSX user meetings.

    Yay! I'm so glad this base has been created! Especially as it seems that RetroNet is not so active/not taking new members on at the moment...

    Some of you already know me from my YouTube channel, "Al's Geek Lab", but I
    do lots of retro stuff on the channel. My collection is modest these days (I used to have my own museum back in the UK). My current collection consists of: * IBM 5162 XT/286 (that's the machine I'm using to write this message with!)
    * IBM 5160 XT
    * IBM 5170 AT
    * Compaq Prolinea 4/100
    * Apple IIe Platinum
    * Apple IIGS ROM3 with Uthernet2
    * Apple Macintosh SE
    * Apple PowerBook 520 & 540
    * Osborne 1
    * Panasonic Sr. Partner
    * and a few other things that either don't work, or haven't been tested yet

    The main thing I love to do is make the machines work on the net. Push them
    to their limits and expand them to the point where they are no longer expandable, whilst keeping them using their original motherboard. For
    example, my XT has a 286 daughtercard, 1MB RAM (around 760k usable) and a network card. My XT286 has a 1.5MB AboveBoard RAM card, a compact flash
    drive, a 3com NIC and is paired with an ATI EGA Wonder 800+ with the IBM 5154 EGA display. My pride and joy!

    If you want help with anything DOS machine related, I should be able to help because that's what I play with most.

    I just want to say I loved the documentary. You had some excellent production values and it was a contributor to me joining the modern BBS scene (although MeatLotion was probably the main catalyst ;)).

    Nice collection. I have just recently started getting into PC compatibles. I have had a 5155 and a 5160 for a while. I just picked up a 5150 earlier this summer and most recently I picked up a PS/2 Model 30 and an Atari ABC
    386DX-II. I have mostly focused on Atari in the past but I have Commodore's, Apple's, TRS-80's, TI and a lot of unique units.
