I am not the sort of person who uses guides, but I have a magazine I bought for
some Shadow of the Colossus Ester Eggs (it turns out you can pet the horse,
yay!) and also have the Megal Gear Solid 3 official guide.
What sucks is when they make a game so the only way to beat it is asking other
players for information or getting a magazine with the solution. Original Legend of Zelda, I am looking at you.

I love that game! My daughter and I played it to death when she was
younger. She cried when the hors...er, well - I guess it's possible
someone might plan on playing that so no spoilers, eh?
But yeah, there's several cool things you can do like grab a pigeon in
the temple and fly around for a short bit. Or grab the bigger bird
(hawk?) outside and go for a long flight. You can even grab a fish underwater and it will pull you around.
And the Secret Garden...! /sigh - so many good memories from this game.

Not for Deus, but occasionally as a collectible I liked to have guide
books for some games. Old examples include old dungeon crawler games
(Eye of the Beholder, Dungeon Master and similar and Ultima), for
newer Witcher 3 with art books.. generally RPG genre in particular
usually comes with nice guide books and lore books and art books that
after years enrich the experience of coming back to the titles.

I nearly stopped playing the game when the horse [spoiler], but in
the end it was a good thing I kept playing because the horse
[spoiler] and all was good again.
