  • A46 - A47 Upgrade Help

    I did a test upgrade on my sandbox BBS today from A46 - A47. In following
    the upgrade notes I completed a mplc -T ..... Once Completed, the very last line I received the following error.

    ERRORS:
    Error in c:\mystic\themes\default\scripts\testinput.mps (Line 25, Col 26): Expected: ,
    Results: 18 files, 1 errors, 6 directories, 0.30 seconds

    So, I opened up config > Editors > Theme Prompt > Prompts
    and I then went down to line 25

    Looking there there was blank with a simple period there. not even a | like every other line.

    can anyone chime in on this ?

    Hmm perhaps given it's a script that ships with the stock install, just try copying the file over from a fresh install to your BBS scripts directory then re run the script compile process.

    Yea; testinput.mps failed for me at some point... I didn't inspect, I'm sure its some old function or code in the MPL - but OP says its just a period, so I don't know off the bat.

    I know all it 'breaks' is the Mystic demo - and only one PART of it... where yer testing the, lol, input.

    Not a huge deal, but as Avon said if you copy the new testinput.mps from an install to some /temp folder, I think it might be a compatible version.

    So, I opened up config > Editors > Theme Prompt > Prompts

    The error appears to be in the MPS script c:\mystic\themes\default\scripts\testinput.mps, so not related to the prompts.

    I use a separate theme (which inherits many things but not all from the "default" theme), so I didn't come across this one, although if it's just one file refusing to compile you might want to try:

    install extract testinput.mps c:\mystic\themes\default\scripts

    ...to overwrite the file with the one from the "dsitribution".

    Did that .... I did a complete clean install of A46 to a new directory
    called /BBS then completed the A46 - A47 upgrade .... Got the very same result. Hummmmm

    Hmmm indeed, OK well as you can see i have yet to migrate to the final version of A47 but if I hit issues too I will come back here and let you know.

    If you do a stock install of A47 do you still see the issue with the script?

    Yep that does the trick, it's often the way I tackle this too :)
