I ran the upgrade process this evening and the upgrade process generated
errors which I believe may be a file permissions issue. I ran the "replace" command on a temp directory and manually copied the A46 files into the /bbs/mystic directory instead

ran the upgrade to upgrade data files and replaced the mis_poll.ans file.

everything appeared to be working when I reloaded the daemon except that I
was getting random errors when using the system or trying to log into MRC

MPL Version Mismatch: [MPX 122A43] / [MPX 122A46]

Additionally there I was unable to switch message areas or really do much of anthing except browse menus and load doors.

Can anybody point me in the right direction

This upgrade was done on the Linux/64 version of Mystic

I have rolled my upgrade back to A45 for the evening and will reattempt the upgrade tomorrow.

For what it's worth, I saw a new post on the Fidonet Mystic channel from g00r00, and the date of the Alpha he was using was August 22nd.

I don't know if you figured it out on your own, but in all likelihood this means that the scripts (probably in /mystic/themes/default/scripts) should be recompiled.

The command I used to do so was, while in the scripts directory:

sudo /mystic/./mplc -ALL

I'm guessing that
/mystic/mplc -ALL
...would work from the directory in Windows.

There are other ways, lots of caveats, etc, but adding that in as part of
your upgrade is probably pretty reasonable.

And, since it's an official release now, I do expect a lot of people to be updating to A46 shortly.

Glad to hear it. And, agreed. I imagine most people will be able to figure
out that particular bug, but it's nice to have answers for questions, especially since searching works fairly well.
