I wonder. Is there any way to configure FTN Point in Mystic? Does it make sense? Or it's rather BINKP used to communicate between Nodes & HUBS and it's expected for Points to send mail via QWK?

Points are an FTN thing. If you'd like to serve a point on your current setup just add an echomail node for them with an address like 21:1/153.1. You can use
any point number you like.

Points work the same way as any FTN node. They just have a .1 (or whatever the point number is) instead of .0.

You'll see that I'm using Mystic as a point - so yes in my situation it makes sense (to me :)

I have all mail coming into MBSE at the moment, but I use Mystic to
read/reply.

I think "points" are an FTN thing (so BINKP), not a QWK thing...

Setting up a point is the same as setting up a BBS, except that a point address is used for your address. Points are simply an extension of the FTN addressing scheme.

Points can be setup with Mystic and should work just the same as any other full node (using BINKP). The only thing that is different between a point node
and a full node is the address as a .# in it!

I do confirm the Point is possible to set-up.

As I wrote FEddy-1.4.05 and BinkD-1.1a-99 is what I compiled
and trying to use.

Despite we are on Fun And Simple Experimental Network I hope
I won't break anything by using software from 1999.

I have a point off my Mystic, I setup my CNet Amiga as a point so I don't
have to get new addresses for it. It's very easy to do.. Let me know if you need help..

You can use BinkP for points and (I guess) QWK... I have not used QWK (sad eh?).

To set up a point system you want to send test packets to from your system, just create a new echomail node, use your main fsxNet address and include a point number in it e.g. 1

Then link echos and files to the echonode and MUTIL will toss them just like they do for any other system you have echomail nodes set up for.

As a rule netmail destined for a point address will be routed via the main 1/153 address so your system in effect becomes a mini-hub for the point
systems :)

(sad eh?).

Yes, the QWK route work too. I guess. De-Facto QWK doesn't really care about Your address so much. At least I think.

Thank You the Mystic configuration went well. What I was afraid of was the compilation process of the tool from source. It threw quite a lot of errors. And when I rescanned the areas I received one weird message. That message was tossed into NetMail from FSX_GET Forum and it seemed like the message base on the Point was corrupted.

I'm not really sure whether if I'd use it I wouldn't send some binary mess. That's why I'll continue testing on separated Net. Just for sure.
