    I've been finding typing in Netrunner to be quite laggy. Is it just me?

    I've been finding typing in Netrunner to be quite laggy. Is it just me?

    What version/OS/hardware? NetRunner runs in my game engine and pushes a lot more pixels (more than double the workload) than other terminals but I've never really found input to be laggy on my laptop at least.

    There are things I can do to address it though, I just need to rewrite the thing instead of band-aiding code from 1999.

    im using the beta 19. i notice when i turn on and off numlock it echoes a S. also cant do alt or an extended ascii code. that is the only thing i notice in beta 19. this is the only thing i notice.

    I'm with DM here, I have been using Beta 18 since May of last year and have never had any issues with it.. Wish it supported Commodore CG mode, but otherwise no issues...

    Ah, then it's just me, then. Hmm.

    There is certainly room for it to be optimized more. Part of my problem is I am dealing with code from 1999 that ran in a single threaded console mode. It doesn't do those things now, but that was how it was designed at the time.

    As I mentioned, NetRunner does things a bit differently than other terminals and it does have a higher "minimum system requirement" in order to be useful. More reason for me to get off my ass and work on optimizing it more though... I just need 72 hours in a day with all of the projects I am working on.

    Another thing could be that if you are using Mystic BBS's spell checking that can also add a little bit of input time when posting a message since Mystic does spell checking, error highlighting, and word suggestions as you type.
