I know that this has been done to death, but I'm in need of a little
help.
I'm trying to setup Mystic on my Windows 10 laptop and I'm trying to get python 2.7 to work with it.
I've installed the latest a37 pre alpha
I've install python 2.7
The install directory is C:\Python2.7
I've updated my PYTHONHOME and PYPHONPATH variables in the Environment Variables dialog window.
The User variables for <me> shows:
PYTHONHOME C:\Python27
PYTHONPATH C:\Python27\Lib
Path %PYTHONHOME%;<more stuff>.

Coolio.. I'm running it under Windows 7 but it should be the same.

Nope, here I have it set to c:\python27 in the PATH variable value amongst other stuff
So here you are saying to hardcode the c:\python27 in the PATH statement instead of using %PYTHONHOME%?

I'm trying to setup Mystic on my Windows 10 laptop and I'm trying to python 2.7 to work with it.Its not any different than Linux. Find where your python27.dll is and make sure its in a library search path so applications can find it. I believe in Windows this can be the mystic directory, the Windows system directory, the Windows directory, or directories listed in the PATH.

echo %PATH% shows that the python paths are included.
if I log in to Mystic localally (mystic -L -u<user> -p<pass>) and go to the demos and the python demo, I get the error that python isn't found. What am I doing wrong?

To add to this, you also need to make sure your bit level is right. Python 32-bit with Mystic 32-bit, Python 64-bit with 64-bit Mystic.
