Should have thought of testing that as well. Yes, I can quote the entire message in fseditor.js.

Quick question.. when quoting in a reply i'm only offered a few of the first lines to quote from when using SlyEdit, IceEdit, etc full screen editors. I don't remember it always being like this so did I bork a setting somewhere?

Interestingly, DCTEdit seems to handle long lines fine in the quoted message text, but totally foobars the header when displayed in a wide terminal.
In the external editor configuration in SCFG, there is an option for each editor that says "Word-wrap quoted text", where you can have Synchronet wrap quote lines to a certain width (0 = terminal width). I have that enabled for SlyEdit.
Can you examine the QUOTES.TXT file in your node directory? Does it contain the entire quoted-message text or any anomalies? What about the INPUT.MSG or MSGTMP file?
I'm responding to (and quoted) your message here using IceEdit v2.35, successfully. It looks like the key setting is "World-wrap Quoted Text". Set that to Yes (either 80 columns or "for terminal width"). IceEdit and

i was thinking the other day it would be kind of neat to "re-parent" the bbs session.. kind of like how gameboy games looked like with a decorative border on the super gameboy, but with ansi art and perhaps some "out of bounds" data like the node list.. then hook the terminal resize messages to keep the bbs part centered but then show the extra when the window is large enough..
anyways that made me think of the little restricted virtual terminal you would need to handle the output .. which would also be useful for doors/ansi/etc
that don't handle the wide terminal well.
anyways .. just thinking out loud

It was the following setting in SCFG:
Word-wrap Quoted Text Yes, for terminal width
It was set to "NO" but after changing that it now works like a charm.

^^ That was it! Not sure how or when it was changed but I'm good to go now. EZ fix.

Nailed it! Thank you for help and awesome editor.

You're welcome.
I'm also curious what version of Synchronet and SlyEdit you're using? I tried turning the word-wrap setting to "no" and replied to a few messages, and was able to see all the lines when quoting.

Were you in a narrow (<=80 column) terminal mode? Were you quoting messages that had long (>80 character) lines?
Yes, I was using an 80 column terminal. I'm actually not sure if the messages I was quoting had >80 character lines (I'm not sure if there's an easy way to tell that).
