Hello Everyone.
I have come across something peculiar. I'm using Version 3.19b.
I have fido setup to use th default port of 24554 which works as intended.
I have setup FSXnet (My hub is 21:1/100) which I have to use port 24556 (I was told that it uses BinkP Port of 24554 But that isn't accurate). I get a real strange error message.
Now, FSXnet works fine using that port (24556) but if I send a Netmail to say (example only) 21:7/123 Binkp uses port 24554, and will not use port 24556 even though that is the port in my domain settings for FSXnet.
How here is the strange part (at least for me).
If I now poll my FSXnet Hub (21:1/100) it uses port 24554 even though in my FSXnet domain settings I have it set to 24556.
I have shutdown the
Synchronet BBS software, restarted my system, started it back up, and it is now still using port 24554 not 24556.
If I go into my settings it still says port is bound to FSXnet 24556 but isn't using it.
I don't know if I'm explaining this properly here. I'm sure I have confused everyone who has read this but I'm at a loss.
Any help will be appreciated on how to fix this.

There is no TCP port setting for an FTN domain (e.g. in
echocfg->domains), so I'm not sure what you're saying. You can set a destination port for each linked node, but not for an entire zone or domain.
How here is the strange part (at least for me).
If I now poll my FSXnet Hub (21:1/100) it uses port 24554 even though in my FSXnet domain settings I have it set to 24556.
Agaain, there is not such "domain setting", so double-check your understanding here. :-)
I have shutdown the

If I go into my settings it still says port is bound to FSXnet 24556 but isn't using it.
An entire network doesn't use a specific port, just one/each linked
node.
Additionally, ports are "bound" for listen (incoming) and that's
entirely different than outbound ports.
I don't know if I'm explaining this properly here. I'm sure I have confused everyone who has read this but I'm at a loss.
Any help will be appreciated on how to fix this.
If you're wanting every linked node in fsXnet (21:*) to use TCP port 24556, there is no setting to do that, nor does such a setting make any sense. --

I did this by opening up Fidonet Congiguration-Linked Nodes->Selected 21:1/100->Selected BinkP Settings, and for the host I put agency.bbs.nz, and for the port I put 24556.
When I do a poll BinkP uses port 24554 for Fido, and Port 24556 for FSXnet.

If I use the port 24556 I don't get that error, and the mail

I still use the default port of 24554 for fido. I never had an
issue with Fido, only with FSXnet.

I assume there's a little more to that error message, like "failed to connect".

I think you're confusing a network with a node. You've configured
21:1/100 to use TCP port 24556 for BinkP, not fsxNet. If your system connects to a different fsxNet node for any reason, it would not use
that 21:1/100 node setting and would default to port 24554 for BinkP.

You're missing the point here. There is no "default port" for
*FidoNet*, nor for *FSXNet*. The port definition is for a *HUB* or a *NODE* within a network. Not for the network itself.
Read the Synchronet Wiki, and look at the examples/directions for the 'sbbsecho.ini' file. Also search for the word "echocfg".

installation of the network.
