    But I would love to do it as an FTN connection, like 33 of my downlinks successfully do. They use their Mystic, WWIV and Synchronet systems to connect to my iREX hub to send and receive their packets.

    I connect via IREX and run FTN. The one network I've had a problem with lately is MusicalNet (which is QWK Networked from Digital Distortion BBS.
    I got it set up, and originally was getting stuff from it, but lately, I've seen very little with it.

    Does Synchronet have the ability to compile the nodelist? I see that yours is way out of date.

    I just use the main nodelist files as they come in, and not the nodediff files. When I ran InterMail and InterEcho as my frontend on dial-up, I used their nodelist compiler. However, I don't think I do a nodelist compliation anymore...and I think that's just mainly if you're using the nodediff files.
    I don't think Synchronet uses a nodelist, per se.

    I would like to join MusicalNet since I am an organ player. Do you find it to be an enjoyable network. Is it a worthwhile venture to try and get the feed?

    I was getting it from Digital Distortion BBS, but I have seen very
    little activity in quite awhile. It was done via QWK Networking, as
    Dove-Net is. I'm not sure if the error is at my end or not.

    I had Yag Laser Surgery on my right eye this morning, so I'm just
    doing a quick look at QWK Mail after lunch, before I go lie back down.
    My eyes are real tired right now, and having storms overnight meant I
    didn't rest well (not to mention the BBS was down for all the lightning
    in the area).

    I haven't seen any traffic or packets...or I get a message that
    there are no new messages. That leads me to wonder if the network
    is even active.

    Traffic is fairly light, but I see new messages occasionally. When was the last time you saw a new message? Unless you're getting an error that you can't connect or password is wrong, etc., I wouldn't worry. Not having any new messages is not an error.

    OK, I won't worry, then.

    Mike Dippel was interested in the network, as he's a musician. While I
    am not involved musically as much as I used to be (I have a classic Story
    and Clark spinet piano here that's likely out of tune, as it hasn't been
    played since before my Mom died), I was involved in choirs (school and
    church) for many years.

    I still like going to the barbershop quartet events in the area. Plus,
    the local chapters of the Diamond State Chorus and the Sweet Adelines do Singing Valentines each February. The recipient gets a card, a love song,
    and the ladies get a long stemmed rose. The proceeds go toward fees for
    their annual competitions.
