domain > fsxnetI tell it where the nodelist is. /sbbs/fsxnet/FSX
I would like to thank you all for helping me as I figure this out. Sadly this is my 3rd attempt at this posting thanks to Comed so it has been shortened but hopefully still
good.
When you setup a new Message network (in my case adding FSXNET), using ECHOCFG
domain > fsxnetI tell it where the nodelist is. /sbbs/fsxnet/FSX
and I changed it to leenooks.net for the dns suffix (as it looks like they are using that for FTN lookups)
Then I add the linked node 21:xxx/xxx and give it all the detailsHost
Address: {hub}
domain: fsxnet
passwords: Session etc
Local AKA (network assigned)

Per my HUB info n3.z21.leenooks.net:24554 is correct.. So is there a way to get the f100 off or do I really just need to go in and set the BinkP Host settings manually?
Just to ensure that I was connecting and getting mail I already set the
but really want to understand how the FTN lookups work or is it just Fido that works?
If you use the ftp-setup.js/init-fidonet.js method of fsxNet setup, itshould take care of all that
for you.

My information says they're using fsxnet.nz for DNS-based address look-ups(not leenooks.net).

Just put your hub's hostname in sbbsecho.ini/echocfg directly. You don'tneed to use the DNS-based look-up at all, for your hub/uplink.

I used this utility via the X-ternal doors option and it worked quite well for Fsxnet. The series of questions generated all the configs and jobs I needed, which is great. Back in the day I used D'bridge which unified all the tools under one UI. Having all the tools as separate programs with their own configs is very complicated, and without this tool I would have been lost.
So thanks for creating it. My fsxnet application was approved and I'm now getting the Echos and files. (I had to setup the file (tic) processing,
the wiki helped there).
The one thing that I'm not sure how to do is to take the Nodelist updates and get them into the right place. I was reading on the Wiki about ticIT and the handler scripts that can move the new Nodelist around with some configuration, but the instructions were not very comprehensive.
I'm also not sure if a Nodelist is even needed these days... unless we're a HUB or planning on sending a bunch of netmail?

I used that to setup Fidonet.. Didn't want to mess up prior networks
