• Error with JS Games

From Hatton@1:103/705 to All on Wed Sep 9 02:15:15 2020
After a recent build upgrade I have a number of JS doors that are no longer working.

For Bubble Boggle, UberBlox, Dice Warz ][, Maze Race and Synchronetris I get the following error when trying to open them:
!JavaScript xtrn_sec.js line 90: uncaught exception: error 107 connecting to TCP port 10088 on server localhost

Also when running Synkroban I get the message:
Couldn't connect to JSON service: undefined
    and then the game starts

    When I finish a level I get:
Error: could not submit score on global scoreboard - TypeError: skb_state.json
    is undefined

Do I need to do another rebuild or is something off?

I should also mention that Minesweeper and Jeapordized work.

It sounds like you updated/overwrote some files in your ctrl directory maybe? Is the JSON service installed/running? What's in your ctrl/json-service.ini file?

Not purposefully. I did run the GIT upgrade process using the instructions on the Wiki. I ran that on September 6th. I did see a ton of commits and remarked on that so maybe another update build is in order?

In the json-service.ini file I see [name] followed by a "dir" entry. Such as [boggle]
    dir=../xtrn/bublbogl/

No. The build is not the issue.

Well that's good, at least. Is the JSON service install/running?

I thought it was but apparently not - after looking in the error log I saw errors like:
srvc 0049 !ERROR 98 (Address already in use) binding JSON socket to port 10088

I've had something like this happen after updating the configuration, the services will recycle but I won't be able to connect and it takes a full server reboot to clear things up.
