Hey all, is there a list/link/source somewhere that identifies all
of the currently active message networks that we can join?
I tried the G and it gave me some dead links and not much more.

Thanks for the tip! Just to clarify that looks to be the current list of FIDO based networks?

Yeah, those are Fido-style networks only.

Are iLink (zone 454), JustaXnet (zone 510), UnknownNet (zone 666), Zeronet (zone 999), and Whispernet (zone 316) no longer extant?
They're ones I have webpages saved for and which seemed to exist semi-recently.

I don't know.have web-downloadable echolists (in backbone.na format), please let me know.
If you find more that I don't have listed, but are active/functional and
The last public echolist for Zeronet is dated 2002; I've not really pursued tha
further. Clearly a working website is a bad indicator of signs of life.
Unknownnet may be defunct with the demise of Tiny's BBS last year. I can't find
an echolist.
Ilink is extant but extremely low-traffic, with apparently at least 75% of its
choes devoid of traffic in the last two years. There appears to be an echolist
n a zip file somewhere, but meh. I read their new-user docs and policy stuff, >d clearly they're not even trying, anymore.
Unknownnet may be defunct with the demise of Tiny's BBS last year. II think he is back online but don't know about the network.

I am a hub on ILink and have a current NA file. I do not know where it would be available for WWW download, but I would be willing to email it to DM or whoever wants to see it?

disagree with the not trying. I do agree that many of the echos
are dead, but a few of them (general chat as an example) have daily, non-robot traffic.
They've got 80-ish echoes, about half of which theoretically have hosts, and at
least half of *those* have no traffic in two years, as far as I can tell. Their
website may not have been updated this century. Other nets advertise at least >oradically in, e.g. alt.bbs.ads--but not Ilink, as far as I can tell.
