Is there a way of striping html code from in coming mail or just accepting plain text internet mail in synchronet mail server?
Or can the web server handle showing html mail? webv4? Please and thanksfor
any help. Ranger.
Yes, I am new to Synchronet…

Most HTML mail is multi-part MIME these days and the supported methods for reading mail will display the plain-text version automatically.
The new message list module can also convert HTML-encoded message text to ANSI/terminal supported text on the fly.Is this a "mod" that needs to be set or enabled? Since a fresh windows (3.17b) install all Internet email has included html code in the message body. This includes the bbs telnet ansi mode... using (with at least 3 different telnet clients).
Is that UTF-8 in your text? Your message wasn't flagged as containing UTF-8 chars.Would this effect the viewing or the "convert HTML-encoded message text to ANSI/terminal supported text on the fly" thingy?

FYI I am making this post with the webv4 message interface, if that makes any difference.

I'm referring to the mail message itself, not a Synchronet setting.
Yes, it has to be installed: http://wiki.synchro.net/module:msglist
Sounds like message(s) you're receiving are not a multi-part MIME with a plain-text portion.
No, a differnet issue.
Sounds like there's an issue there.

I tried your suggestions and all went well with the script install (msglist.js) every thing went as expected. When I logged in and tried to read mail or messages I got this error:
Thu Mar 12 2020 02:00 pm paladium.servebbs.com
term Node 1 <Ranger> !JavaScript C:\sbbs\exec\msglist.js line 1227: TypeError: msgbase.get_index is not a function
I did then tried updating the load dir. per instructions, same error. Then tried sbbs_dev.zip as a last try with no luck. After removing the load mod in scfg things are back as they were before msglist install.
Running 3.17b win10 x64 + I left the exe and load files with the newest files from CVS
