If possible, you should probably remote into your setup on MarisaG's serverand re-do your BBS
setup. Maybe start from scratch. Also, there are instructions includedwith ecwebv4 for how to
set it up.
You log in remotely (probably with SSH), and configure YOUR system
the way YOU want it to be. You *ARE* the sysop, right?

jsexec isn't involved with installing or using ecwebv4. At least, I
don't remember having to use jsexec with ecwebv4.
Thanks. I'm getting tired of all this. Running Synchronet on my own machine was so much easier. Running on someone elses machine sux. I don't understand all this Apache stuff and really don't want to learn it. I'm

There's an installer/updater written in js,
it's on someone else's machine, you should be able to remote login and manage your BBS yourself.

Yes I know. I ran the update using MarisG instructions and the Web stuff got wacked. Here's the instructions. I know now to use them now but it's
late.
cd /sbbs
backup_bbs
export CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous@cvs.synchro.net:/cvsroot/sbbs
cvs update -d src 3rdp
cd /sbbs/src
./cleanall.sh RELEASE=1
cd /sbbs/src/sbbs3; make RELEASE=1 USE_DOSEMU=1 install
cd /sbbs/src/sbbs3/scfg; make RELEASE=1 USE_DOSEMU=1 install

You didn't want the joomla website so I disabled it. You must havereenabled
it as I have not touched your server in quite a while...

He has the ability to do that, I don't prevent him making changes...

Oh I see.. Because you give me access that means I'm breaking it. Ok..I get it.
Ok. MarisaG fixed it but I need to know how I "somehow re-enabledJoomla"?
How can I find out what the Startup script looks like? I'm not a Ubuntu expert but I would like to have more control over my BBS. How can I stop Joomla from loading ever again? Can someone give me the right command sequence to update my BBS without screwing it up?
is there a reason you cant run your BBS from home?
just curious
