I've had to shut down the website interface for the BBS.
With the original version, if one clicks on File Libraries,
it asks to save it to an HTML file, instead of bringing up
a list, as with an FTP logon.
With echicken's version (4), if one clicks on "Connect Via
Telnet", it says "Redirecting...", then crashes.
But, I would like to get the website re-enabled as soon
as possible.

Can you describe the crash? I'm not sure if you mean that the ftelnet window
just craps out (turns grey
maybe) or your entire BBS crashes, which would be interesting.
What browser are you using? Some browsers (e.g. chrome) won't render FTP-ser
pages any more.

You'll need to provide more detail than just "crashes".

Sure, and we'd love to help.
What do you mean by "crashes"? When I hear "crash" with software, usually I N>think the program quit with an error, etc.. I have a hard time imaginging N>fTelnet would cause the web browser to crash..
It was the FTelnet Window. I have an external FTelnet link that folks
can get to the BBS from their browser, but the "Connect Via Telnet" link doesn't work from the BBS website. I'm running Windows 10 32-bit.
I'm able to connect to your websocket server, but your websocket server is no
able to
connect to your telnet server. It's difficult to say why this is the case.
Can you tell me what you mean when you're describing this "external fTelnet E>link"?
What do you have in the [WS] section of ctrl/services.ini?
What do you have in the [BBS] section of ctrl/sbbs.ini for TelnetInterface an
TelnetPort?
What do you have in the [Global] section fo ctrl/sbbs.ini for Interface?
The external FTelnet link, not on the BBS website, is http://www.theweatherwonder.com/bbsftlnt.htm
Interface=0.0.0.0 (IP address of network interface to bind to)
That's the same with all the interface deals.

This is using Rick's websocket proxy server and not yours. That makes it see
more likely that there's a problem with your websocket server.

This should be fine, assuming you're using the very latest versions of:
exec/websocketservice.js
exec/load/ftelnethelper.js
In fact, I just went to tbolt.synchro.net and see that ftelnet is working (fo
me as an external client anyway), so I suspect you've updated recently and th
has solved the problem.
