    Don't strip $.I think I was intending to strip & and prevent those variables,but it looks like the original doesn't.However, it also looks like the original doesn't *always* replacestring variables... will need to look into that harder in the future.

    Fix a (harmless) user creation errorWhen a players map is set, it automatically triggers a player recordwrite. When a new player is being created, the map is set beforethe player is added via @addchar.This attempted to write record number undefined in the player file,which threw an exception. Since exceptions are being caught, logged,and ignored, this did not cause a problem, but did log an error whenit wasn't necessary.
