• Good news from the medium

From Aaron Thomas@1:342/201 to All on Tue Aug 13 08:44:44 2024
A medium that I follow said that Trump will win the election and that part of the reason will be because of the left's ridiculous dishonesty catching up with them, and that people will wake up in time.

I often read cnn.com's news, and today they have an article that attempts to compete with Tim Walz's negative publicity by attacking JD Vance. Apparently, Vance was a board member of a company that ran a greenhouse in Kentucky. The article says that workers complained about it being "too hot" in the greenhouse and that they faced scrutiny from management when they tried to use a doctor's note to excuse them from work.

To me, this is part of what the medium what talking about. There's 2 sides to every story, but "too hot in a greenhouse" isn't a very good squaking point.

Thanks for that link! I haven't watched it yet but I will later tonight.

I heard about the DDOS attack on Fox News, but there was no mention of it on CNN. They don't want people to know that there was an effort to get people to
    not watch the interview.

Ridiculous. "Several staffers" isn't a person, and it's not a people either. It's a made up lie. It doesn't matter how many "sources" say it, there's no truth in it unless you (at least) have names.

Did they show you their Twitter work badge? Did they show you a Twitter paystub? Did they show you their Twitter parking placard?

No, no, and no. And they didn't even tell you their name(s). Some idiot said "several staffers" and you fell for it.

Fox news has a "mixed" score for factual reporting according to mediabiasfactcheck.com due to numerous failed fact checks. They also have an extreme right bias.

The Verge gets a "high" score for factual reporting and a left center bias.

No, no, and no. And they didn't even tell you their name(s). Some idiot said "several staffers" and you fell for it.

I suppose you could take a walk down there and ask them yourself. They are not in hiding and they are not afraid to talk.

Twitter (or is it x) was working normaly the whole time.

I am sure there is more to it than just "too hot" but, yes, you should certainly expect the insides of a greenhouse will be much hotter than
outside. That is sort of the point. If it gets too hot, they open the windows, which makes it as hot as outside. They are not going to be air conditioned as it is bad for the plants.

I wonder if he was mixed up with the giant greenhouse company that came in
and set up shop with some promises only to go broke roughly a year later?
That story sounded sort of like other stories regarding solar power
companies. I need to go back and look that one up.

Many millions of users (including me) confirmed that X worked completely normal all the time. It was not a malicious attack by bots (which is what DDoS usually means). It was just that too many ordinary users tried to connect at the same time.

Can you please leave at least this conspiracy theory for now?

Not I, that's for sure. Not without fact-checking, so I asked Grok, and here's what she told me:

When Elon Musk took over Twitter, the company had approximately 8,000 employees. Since then, Musk has fired roughly 80% of the workforce, which means about 6,500 employees have been let go.

This drastic reduction left Twitter with around 1,500 employees. Now, if you're wondering how a company like Twitter, which was once bustling with more people than a small town, can function with what seems like a skeleton crew, well, that's Elon's management masterclass for you.
