BTW, what happened to my query about ArcaOS and eCS comparison when
I replied; did you ever get it?
I was having issues with my feed for a while but I switched.

I too would be interested, as I have debated about getting ArcaOS
setup here, and compile my BBS and tools over to it... since there
are OS/2 systems still running.
I did never receive a reply from Sean. He was happily running eCS and
I wanted to know why he was considering a change to ArcaOS.
I sent a message to you twice and you acked the second one.
Simply put, I can do a hell of a lot more with ArcaOS. I ran eCS
for about two days and removed it, going back to Warp 4.52. eCS was
junk. ArcaOS is much better but it's definitely a resource hog on
my old NetVista.
The thing that has made me considering eCS is that ArcaOS doesn't
support WiFi which is essential to me.
Also eCS is promising full support of older OS/2 applications which
makes life easier.
Just found this from the NewEgg email message of the cost of Windows
10 Pro at the regular price.
and that's the OEM version so no support from m$ on it... the full retail version is like $200US...

Some things never change with MS. When they started "giving" away
Windows 10 a few years ago...reminds me how drug dealers get ya hooked.

Just got news from g00r00 that he put up a version of Mystic for OS/2
with the easy stuff running...but the hard stuff is still needing a lot
of work. He doesn't know when he'll get a chance to have it go into full production for those like myself.
Yes windows seems more expensive for sure, however their updates are
free.

With a subscription, you are guarenteeing (sp) support for an OS that has 1/10000th of the userbase that Windows has...

I don't know if it's true or not but if it is, I'm happy to help.

Dont get me wrong I want to go back to os/2 in the worst way just
waiting until its a little further along hardware wise..

Didn't know that...but that image has helped quite a few...including myself...to make the leap.

If someone wanted to run an OS/2 BBS on a linux box, do you think it
would be feasible to do with a virtualbox session? Does the box have
to have hardware that OS/2 supports, or does virtualbox handle all of that?
Didn't know that...but that image has helped quite a few...including myself...to make the leap.I have that image set up on my laptop (that I'm on now). I have Turbo Pascal 7, Virtual Pascal 2.1b279, and Free Pascal 3.0.4 setup for development purposes.

I have an OS/2 Warp 4.52 image working just fine under Virtualbox on my laptop that I'm using right now with Devuan Linux 64-bit. No issues. VB handles all of the hardware abstractions.
Yep. The config of the server isn't functional yet...but using JAM messaging software already available for OS/2...would you be able to
using the messaging part of the software? Getting BinkD...would you be able to get the messages & such to the hubs?
Just thinking out loud for a way to make the software usable by other methods.

As far as picking up incoming telnet connections, that's another story.
