  • Syncterm/Mystic Ansi Issue

    I'm having an issue with Syncterm displaying ansi. Particularly, the very first ansi my BBS displays: a file called username.ans which is a prompt for the username.

    This works perfectly fine with Netrunner..

    But with Syncterm, it *looks* like Syncterm is removing row #1, then my animations are occurring on the wrong rows because of that first row being removed.

    I'll assume that other sysops have encountered and fixed this before? Because it's *only* happening on my BBS with syncterm.

    Any suggestions?

    Does your ANSI take up 24 or 25 lines? A lot of times with a terminal program's status bar set to on it will cause a 24 or 25 line ansi to scroll up one line. You can try a couple things:

    Disable your status bar in Syncterm and see if it fixes the problem you're seeing. However, that will only fix it for you or anyone that doesn't use a status bar.

    Edit your ansi to only be 23 lines total, and it should work in any terminal program out there. If it absolutely has to be 24 lines, add an escape code to the end of the ansi to reposition the cursor anywhere on the screen besides that 24th line, as once the 24th line of the ansi is displayed there is usually something built into the BBS software to automatically go to the next (25th) line before it displays anything else.
