Nearly forgot about that war. :)
We still have audio recorded on r-r, cassettes as well as CDs... and

And then when there are upgrades to an OS and older programs no
longer work. (I.e, pre-Windows something and BW.)
I still have CD's of old programs that are no longer used or usable.
Hmm, wonder if I could sell those on eBay as "antiques"? :)
And then when there are upgrades to an OS and older programs no

That's one of the reasons that we don't necessarily do certain
upgrades.... ;) I'm still in DOS, so my BW works just fine... <G> You
could use BW in one of those DOS emulators, according to some people
that are doing just that, though....

And of course in those days it was dial up and other than the local
BBS' there was a toll charge. Not to mention tying up the phone line.
But now with cable there are no charges (other than flat cable fee),
no more phone lines, etc. So it doesn't matter how long I'm on line,
the cost is the same.
And some people don't even pay a cable fee what with free wifi all
over the place. (Someone is paying, but not the user).

over the place. (Someone is paying, but not the user).
I have three options for wifi, in no order.
My account at Marshall, which is used when on campus such as when
I'm working. Uh, well on campus anyway. :)
The city has free wifi in selected areas, with no PW.
Comcast has a city wide wifi with your Comcast USID/PW.
The last two are not always available. I think if the wind is
blowing from a certain direction or if a bird flies in a certain area
it cuts out the signal. :)
When I was on my trip some cities I could get a "Cable Wifi"
option. I tried that and if the user has a cable subscription (there
was a menu of cable systems) and put in their USID/PW it worked.
That popped up on my phone one time here. Never saw it before nor
since.
Holograms. 3D holograms. Yeah, that's the thing.
Imagine watching a video as a 3D hologram.
I want a holodeck.

My door areas were called the Holodeck though.
