    Theoretically, what would be the minimum number of Fidonet systems required to implement the current nodelist model or structure to operate properly?

    I don't understand the question. 2 systems minimum for a Network. The Nodelist model and structure has always seemed a bit overcomplicated to me. I understand the logic behind it, and why it was done that way. But still overly done.

    The question specifically asked the minimum required to implement the nodelist to operate correctly.

    One only needs to install a mailer and compile a nodelist.

    The nodelist itself can even have just one entry and since that would most likely be the Zone definition, that one system "is" the network.

    Therefore logically, one works.

    Only one system. That doesn't prohibit multiple users using Telnet, dial up or any other type of access you might have from participating. Or even point systems, since generally points aren't on the node list.
