• Groceries And Transport

From Daryl Stout@1:19/33 to George Pope on Tue Aug 10 09:54:00 2021
    George,

Definitely. . . I remember when I shoppped on foot, using my cane -- an exhausting ordeal. So I began going by bus(free with annual pass) in
my wheelchair, shopping, & cabbing everything home. (cost $10 back
    then, including 18-20% tip.)

I'm going to wait until after I see the cardiologist on Thursday, before
I get additional groceries. I did a bit of a splurge yesterday, and bought
a half dozen soft fresh chocolate iced donuts, and washed them down with
a Sprite. I can't have any caffeine from 12am Wednesday until 12pm Thursday,
so I'm going to be rather antsy.

what they deserved & let it go so there isn't more penalty to come.

I've had that happen to me with a taxi one time. I prefer using Uber.

I thought you were diabetic? Is 6 doughnuts+pop a good idfea all at once?

Yup, I need my caffeine. I drink quintuple or sextuple strength coffee, usually. One or two & I'm generally ready for the day. . .

No wheelchair vans with Uber -- nobody wants to buy an $80,000 van for a side hustle, & unlikely to get their money back by going fultime & competing with every other Uber app holder. . .

I've placed simultaneous orders for a rotisserie chicken on Uber Eats, and
for an egg omelette on DoorDash
Looks like we're about to find out, once and for all, what comes first!

I really thought becoming an Uber driver would be worthwhile…
But I have nothing to chauffeur it.

    I got fired from Uber.
Apparently they didn't like it when I went the extra mile.

I was an uber driver for a bunch of pro wrestlers, they were so tired after their show they all just stacked on top of each other in my backseat
I guess I was the pile driver

Q: Why do Uber drivers skip the gym ?
A: Because they don't even Lyft, bro!

The worst thing about driving for Uber is all the people talking behind your back

My parents used my Uber to go and file the application ending their marriage.
I gave the driver one star. He drove my parents to divorce.

    George,

I thought you were diabetic? Is 6 doughnuts+pop a good idfea all at
    once?

No. I asked my cardiologist last week what the threshold was. He said
that it's at 7.0 for Type 2. My A1C has always been between 5.7 and 6.1
(it was 5.9 a month ago).

Yup, I need my caffeine. I drink quintuple or sextuple strength

You can have my coffee. Javascript is the instructions to make it.

There is a business between Little Rock and Benton that makes those vans.

    Depending on traffic, yep.

I really thought becoming an Uber driver would be worthwhile…
But I have nothing to chauffeur it.

The Uber folks were nicer to me than most of the taxi drivers around here.

    I got fired from Uber.

You just wanted to do the scenic tour.

I've wondered if they're all the same company.

to put it over, eh? :D

Might even supply ours. . .

Well, could be the same handful of guys working both companies part-time. . .

It's tough making bank on side hustles alone. . .

I've noticed some of the same guys doing meal delivery as do my groceries. .

I'd rather be in the back seat...but it's so hard to get in and out of those vehicles.

I have a heck of a time getting into back seats via a front door, that I just don't any more. I claim the front passenger seat any time I'm riding anywhere ambulatory. (plus I'm tall, so need to ratchet the seat back to its max)

Pooh can't calculate the angle at which his friend magically conjured a

Q: What do Alexander the Great and Winnie the Pooh have in common?
    A: Same middle name

Q: Why did Winnie the Pooh’s house fail electrical inspection?
    A: Too many bear wires.

    George,

Admittedly, I have scarfed a whole bag of the Hostess strawberry cake
donuts in two sittings. :P And, I've had a dozen chocolate iced donuts
in one sitting, washed down with a diet Dr. Pepper. After all, it does
balance it out...and I believe in "the balanced diet"...balanced in the
belly, and in the buttocks. <G>

    This is true.

He probably got a charge out of his day.

I've been bad in my chioces, but cuttuing back bigtime now thart my youthful metabolism & body type is long gone. . .

I looved getting day-old yeast doughnuts, fresh as they went on sale (20c
each) at 7pm. I'd buy 12m, so no sales tax, & eat one apple fritter for my bedtime snack & the rest for breakfast while doing my QWK & SOUP packets.

On a par with finding a 2lb package of fudge centre chocolate sandwich
cookies, & eating the entire thing while drinking a large mug of super indulgent cocoa (Land O' Lakes, as I recall)

If I did either of the above now,. I'd either vomit it all up in one long eruption, or die, or "and die" so I'm more careful in my old age; I'd like to not get diabetes.

Just been to a diabetes awareness website and it asked me if I accept cookies !!!!
    Is that a trick question?

My doc said I shouldn't be making puns on diabetes its a serious disease..
    I said I can't help it doc, its a pun-creatic disease.

    I have Tight Too diabetes
I've been eating a lot of yeast doughnuts and when I put any clothes on I say "these are tight too!"
