Whats noise to me might be music to someone else. But after decades of being
on most Othernets it all just becomes to me the same things over and over. Othernets have almost the exact same participants. The novelty is just not there anymore for me, nothing making most of them different from Fidonet.

I can even take a guess when the next dupe-dump will happen or when some troll will gaslight something stupid, or when an Othernet ZC will unfortunately go from having a fun experimental net to having a net that needs a clearly
defined set of policy as its noisiest participants are not mature enough to
hit the Next key.

I don't need or define topics when I talk with friends. We talk about anything and everything and whatever. "Topics" never come up.

When I listen to Joe Rogan and guests, those can be GREAT
conversations.

Even CHAT and COFFEE_KLATSCH seem to be under utilized. Those
are good places to seed any topic for starters.

I'm actually a huge fan of the North Pond Hermit, aka Christopher Knight. Reading *that* story was fascinating and left me with feelings of jealousy.

Not the break-ins but the life of just one day up and vanishing into thin air.
