I am reading FSC-0056 and I am not clear on what the actual difference between EMSI and IEMSI is.

Yes, Frontdoor's terminal is IEMSI capable. It only works with other
IEMSI BBSs like RemoteAccess.

I guess I meant terminals. I remember looking in Telix for IEMSI support back in the day but couldn't find it. A quick google search shows that Terminate supported it.

I don't remember Telegard supporting IEMSI but maybe I have
forgotten.
There was a mex around that I used for a time to add IEMSI support to Maximus.
