I'm just not sure where I should be looking to try to figure this one
out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know what is causing your issue. You are running Windows, that's what
it is.
That was my first thought as well. :) It may be changing in the not
too distant future, but I'd like to get it running right for now.
If my subject line looks strange, GoldED does that for some reason with subject lines that begin with "Re:". I have not been drinking.. ;)
If you rename those .tos files back to .pkt do you get the same results?
One thing to try is grab the latest from the gitbub page or..
http://download.huskyproject.org
I'm not sure of the version you are running but something to try.

Ok, I just updated to: hpt/w32-mvcdll 1.9.0-cur 2019-11-24, and I'm
still getting the error... :(
What is happening there ^^^ (in the Subject line)?
What is happening there ^^^ (in the Subject line)? That happens when I'm using golded and I reply to a message that has a subject line that starts with "Re:".
I'm not sure why that is, it's been that way for a number of years.

Funny, I don't see an "Re:" in the message you replied to and my
Golded just strips the "Re:".
I'm just set up HPT and HTick on my Windows 7 system, which is running
as a hub for another network. Echomail is flowing quickly! I'm loving
it!
The only issue that I'm having, is incoming netmail messages are
giving me the error message of: Exception 0xc0000005 (Access
violation) at address 0x002a9a1e

When I reply to Dan's reply to Frank that caused that, just a few
messages back.

Even with that mail I cannot reproduce the problem. When does it
happen? right after reply in editing mode or after the mail was saved?
I wonder what the difference between my Golded and your Golded are.
You use Squish? 32 or 64 bit?
EDITREPLYRE <yes/no/numeric> (no)I did add that to my golded.cfg and it still does that.

Does what?
If you set it to no it will not insert Re: and strip it from replies.
If you set it to yes it will add Re:.
If you set it to numeric it will generate Re^n:
Works like a charm.
I set it to yes for this reply.
Will delete it again, as I do NOT want Re: in the subject for my
replies.
Hello Oli,
When I reply to Dan's reply to Frank that caused that, just a
few messages back.

It happens as soon as I hit <Alt>Q to reply, I can see it in the
header.
I am currently using Jam bases but have seen the same with Squish
bases also.
I use a mix of OSs, generaly slackware or debian, always
the x86_64 releases.
Maybe it a 32 vs 64 bit thing?
The subject is scambled before it's written to the message base, it
seems it doesn't have anything to do with the message base.

Maybe. My Linux is 32-bit (Raspbian).
You could try MsgEd ;)

I may try to find the bug if you send me your full hpt configuration without pas swords and one of those pkts causing the exception (in one archive).

I have sent you any email with the archive attached.
There is an issue in your hpt configuration. Your address is defined
after the n etmail area is defined. But the main address must be defined before any areas. I t is better to define address at the very beginning
where you define name, locat ion and sysop. Since neither tparser nor
hpt checked this I fixed the bug. Now b oth of them will complain for
the wrong definitions order.
I can't believe I didn't notice that... I feel like an idiot now... :)
Don't feel that way. It's something that can happen when first setting
up and now because of your experience tparser will also report the issue when it happens.
Your setup has been working well for echomail and I have made so many adjustments to my config over the years it would make your head spin.. :)
