Now, as the east/west border of Germany is history, the
England/Europe ditto seems to be emerging?

The Brittish have choosen to no longer be a member of the EU. So they shouldn't whine if they have to follow the rules for non members.

I am having wonderous dreams of the time when Doggerland reemerges
from the North Sea.
Then I have another shot of the incohol...

Now that we for the first time in human history can have a true hindsight vision of 20 20, I was reminded of what it was like when I was called to make service on ships unfortunately stranded in east Germany.
At the border, we always knew that we would have to spend at least 12 hours,
so we always had covers annd pillows handy when trying to pass.

The British claim to the northern part of Ireland will be relinquished
as the Republic of Ireland remains part of the EU. Catholics now
comprise a majority of the population, easily outnumbering
Protestants.
If a referendum were held
today, it would most likely end in favour of a reunion.

And a restart of the violence?
You know Ireland better ...

WTF are you doing there? Rock hunting?
They have rocks here? I've seen plenty of gas wells but no rocks of
note. I've heard that they have a melon festival here each year too, and it is not a wet Y-shirt competition.
I checked Google later. There are actually petrified tree rocks there...

I wonder where they hide them. No sign of them in the main street...

In plain sight. They grow them petrified for sale the following year.
I'm leaving here today for other parts so I won't be seeking a permit.
And now I'm at this thriving metropolis for a couple of nights.
