That's Signals. Probably the last Rush album I bought. I'm the same. Everything up to that I really like. After that are OK but less my style.

Brain cancer. Friend of mine kicked the bucket in his 20s.
Can happen to anybody.

Me too. Didn't care too much for the synth stuff.

And Signals was one of their more synth-heavy albums.

I know, I'm just making excuses to blast Subdivisions at high volume.

Rush was never a thing here ... unfortunately I want to add.
I know, I'm just making excuses to blast Subdivisions at high volume.duel
You're lucky ... I even get comments about the volume when playing the
solo towards the end of Hotel California loud ... in my headphones.

After awhile here on Canadian radio stations - you begin to hear the
same Rush tracks over, and over, and over and over again... same thing with April Wine, Bryan Adams, Trooper etc. Canadian music in general
just gets so vastly overplayed here. Seems like always the same bands, same songs on the radio. Stations here don't take chances anymore or venture out into album-territory.
I bought a great pair of in-ear monitors - little knock-offs from achinese
company called KZ. When I heard of Neil Peart's passing, I took it upon myself to test my new IEMs out by listening to "Moving Pictures" in its entirety, like I did in high school.

Is Saga still around? :)

Well, maybe not.
That's one problem you don't need to worry about.
