My neighbor's router credentials are admin/password. Not
too hard to figure out.
The kids have learned to use the cell networks on their
phone to get around our wifi parental controls.
I've told both of the kids that I reserve the right to
inspect their phones and for us to discuss any
inappropriate content in a non-judgemental manner. It
might be time for that nuclear option.

Wow.. People still do that.

Isn't there an app you can install on their phones to control
that?

Yeah. Looks like they're calling your bluff.

Any app you install, kids will find a work around.

With cell phones as ubiquitous as they have become for kids, I
am surprised to hear there does not appear to be a good way to
control internet use.
I am imagining that even a pin code that the parent only knows
to open a browser might be a good start. At least that way,
the kid can't use their phone for www browsing unless the
parent is close by.
Or.. wouldn't there be an app that reports the internet sites
that the kid is visiting and sends the info to a parent's
computer?

There are such apps around. I can't vouch for their effectiveness.
