I have new wrinkle, videodownload helper is failing to download
It complains of aggregation failure
The "details" are listed below
(very long)
ffmpeg version n4.1.5-vdhcoapp Copyright (c) 2000-2020 the FFmpeg developers
built with gcc 9 (Ubuntu 9.3.0-17ubuntu1~20.04)
configuration: --arch=x86_64
/tmp/vdh-52778uPEohALa80Kz.tmp: Invalid data found when processing input
What is noticable is the different version of ffmpeg
The above is, I assume, from the website "youtube" and may mean nothing
My verion is
[faeychild@unimatrix ~]$ ffmpeg
ffmpeg version 4.3.6 Copyright (c) 2000-2023 the FFmpeg developers
built with gcc 10 (Mageia 10.4.0-3.mga8)
Is the "WARNING: library configuration mismatch" something to worry about

I would prefer that you would/could provide a/the command line command
and any instructions to allow me to see if it happens on my install. Example: $ firefox youtube_url_here
left click mouse, select download.

Do you mean LMC on the VDH dowload menu bar icon
Actually in this case it does not fall over with the resulting blue
number notification turning red but seems to be OK.
whereas in fact it is not downloading at all and will eventually time out
example

i have since discovered the support forum and it recognizes there is a
new problem with VDH OH Well!!
PS Bits
How have you been?
I only see you now with the zoom updates
That is my problem in trying to re-create your problem. I have no idea how/what to
do to recreate your problem. Just now tried
firefox https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nl5-YA704Xk
and have yet to figure out where to click what, to get to your download command for testing.
He, he I am making out my will because I got a heart medical operation end of this month.
Cardio vascular expert is still trying to find out why I am quite fatigued with ~5 minutes of any activity like walking or standing. I check my blood pressure and it is 90/80 thereabouts. Takes an hour to get back in the 135/xx range.
He says if test finds a clogged vein on this test they will insert a stint.
Problem started after I came down with Covid when it first came out and
now I still have long hauler problems. I am impressed on the amount of simple bash command that I have to lookup since I was infected. Glad symptoms did not
put me in the hospital like some people.

Ah Ha The process is straightforward
Video download helper must be installed and will place a three color
ball icon (red, blue, yellow) in the menu bar on the right hand side.
then you start a youtube video.
left click on the colored ball icon and then select the appropriate
video entry from the drop down menu.
You should then see a blue square flag notification on the ball icon indication a download
This will rapidly turn red when the download fails, although it can
sometimes stay blue, but sort of hang on the download process.
This is a recent development and smacks of deliberate sabotage (paranoid
mode on)

I wish mine was that low, currently 167/87 blood sugar is high too.
There are rising suspicions about those vaccines we were all
" encouraged " to partake
I have recently dabbled in the carnivore keytone diet. To the extent of
just eliminating carbs and have lost 14 Kg in two months. My jeans are falling off
it is mot calorie restrictive so no pain just no carbs
You can eat as much fatty steak as you want - no potatoes, no fries and
no sugar in the barbecue sauce :-)

I do not see the Ubuntu verbiage when running ffmpeg and version matches yours.

Yep, and about day 3 is when your body switches to burning fat for fuel.
Did notice brain was not working as fast/well when I was not eating carbs.

Which videodownload helper? If we discussed it before, I've forgotten.

OK Bits we can call off the dogs
I started to get way to complicated. I booted Mageia 6 this morning intending to try the older browser.
Then I realized all I need to do was test download from some other video host site, eg: Rumble. It works just fine.
So suspicion centers on Youtube effing us around - again.
I could have tried this yesterday instead of running off bat shit crazy :-( you did mention brain fog!!
AND!!! my moment of diet epiphany was stumbling into a youtube channel by "Sten Ekberg". I realized that the Guy made a lot of sense
Regards
As an alternative to Video Download Helper, you might consider trying Clipgrab from the Mageia repos. I've found that it works better for downloading Youtube videos.
Copy the video url and paste it into Clipgrab, and when it finds the
clip select the quality you want and click on "Grab this Clip!" I find
the download speed is much better than with the Firefox extension, and
you don't have to keep the browser open if you don't want to.
