also the person i was stuck with last week was very sick and she told me i would get sick too. she had no mask. we were stuck driving together all day. so i am sick as hell now with a sore throat.
people are disgusting. it didn't take long to revert back.

welp, i got covid again.
Sorry to hear. It sucks! Eat your oranges and chicken soup.
I mean, I agree that people are gross, but are people just going to whine every time they get the sniffles from here out?
welp, i got covid again.
i tested negative monday night but tuesday i tested positive.
good times.

make sure you quote.
and if you are sick, you really shouldn't be at work if you are around people. it's not right coming in sick when your coworkers go home to children and the elderly.
if you cough, you should cover your mouth and not cough on people.
It's not whining to ask these things. Maybe we DO need to change how we look at everything because when something REALLY bad comes.... MAYBE we will be a little prepared for it.
i said this before. my mom died at 62 of covid. she's the first woman in the family we know of that died that young. the women in my family lived into their 90s. they are tough bitches.
we need to stop trying to smooth shit over and try to move on. it's not working.
You shouldn't be at work, but then again, it may be a major problem if you don't turn up, such as if you are the only one on your team who is not on leave and your job is the difference between whether the company releases something to market on time or not.
And if some people "soldier on", it sets a precedent for others. I worry that if I don't turn up because I'm sick, that somehow I'll be "flagged". I still stay home, but it plays on ones mind.

I hate being around dumbass people like that. For the time being we are still on work-from-home 4/5ths of the work-week. As people are becoming more lax, I enjoy that.
so if dipshit one comes to work sick, then all the other dipshits get sick and get sick enough to take off. then the boss dipshit gets sick.
it would have been better to lose 1 guy to a 3 day weekend than a whole team of people taking off over 2 weeks.
this is part of my theory of someone fucking it up for everyone. there are people who call in when they arent sick and then it creates an environment where you can't take off of work for the sake of yourself and others.

Thats the thing, if people have expressed a sentiment of "he's faking it" or "he's probably at the footy", then you want to be sure you're really sick before you take time off.

Not really a need to quote when you're addressing the first post of a thread and not going point by point.
It's not ideal, but people have also been doing it forever. That's how we as a society build our collective immune systems.
we need to stop trying to smooth shit over and try to move on. it's not working.
Yeah, it is. Here in the middle of the country, aside from the occasional person that's masked, nobody is taking any special post-2020 precautions and we're doing just fine. We cannot internalize the culture of fear that the
media and the government (both administrations) has built. A populace that is afraid or angry is easy to manipulate.

At the place where I work, the owner of the company really wants us to be in t
office, even though we could easily work from home most of the time (sometime
we do have to come in because we sometimes have devices and equipment at the o

would be nice not to have to not have to go anywhere and just work from home.

Some of our upper management would like us all back in, too. Based on some things they've said, I suspect it is because they want to be able to hunt people down and fuss at them for whatever is bothering them.
They think that COVID is over. They also seem to think that ID Theft and fraud do not exist, if that tells you anything.

I asked him about his cough and he got a weird look on his face.
"Hey, where'd you get that cough from?" He said it was probably
from being on an airplane with strangers. Then I said ahhh.
I knew he had covid. it's a covid cough.
I made sure i kept distance from him.
I didn't stand up and grab a pitchfork. He's middle mgmt and I'm
new. You can't really do shit about other people's behaviors or
lack of manners.
I've gone back to wearing a mask when I'm out in public indoors. So far I've been lucky enough not to have it (I've tested multiple times every time I've had anything that resembles a cold, and I've always been negative), but I don't want to bring it home to my wife who is immune-compromised and super high risk, nor my father who is currently in hospice.

If you feared losing your job over this, you're probably wrong.
You could file a wrongfull dismissal claim and sue your way to
a little wealth.

Offer to personally cough into his face if he would not

first! :D
well from what i've read about it, productivity wise, working from home demons
ated successfully.
middle managment usually did not like remote workers because it created more w

to managing remote workers.

people and companies want something to blindly follow. that's why they go with part of the cdc guidelines. the thing is, it can vary greatly due to the person and their response to the virus. it can be 10 days total.

In our case, it is an upper manager in our organization (which, I guess, is a middle manager in the whole) who never adjusted and I suspect did not
want to.
OTOH, one of my more immediate middle managers seemed not to like it at first, and was in the office a lot. I hardly ever see them now on the days I am in. I think they adjusted. :)

I got it twice myself, in the span of 6 weeks. Survived (obviously). I see you have too. :-)
