So what is W? Does it actually mean something, or is it just another rebrandingof something for no reason whatsoever?

Seems it is a rebranding from Watch to W, programmes they're highlighting seem to cover nurses, dating, making babies, and miscarriages ...

How long before Dave rebrands to D?

I notice it has reappeared on BT's streaming service (sure it
disappeared from there some time ago). But nothing of interest there -
I am sure they used to have some interesting programmes when it was last available there.

It does still have some interesting stuff, but I suspect what is actually
going on is a lot of the stuff was charged on its old home, now they can put
it out for free with loads of adverts.

Yes well, its been W for some time but was not a freeview channel. Thy have moved one channel up and shoved it in lower down.
Hard to tell the difference between what they show and some of the others. Same sort of fly on the wall in health service, interviewing some more over
the hill celebs etc etc. Some is not badly done but others are, well,
    bizarre or cringe making.

So, maybe other rebrandings are on the cards then, as you say, I never did understand why a channel was called Dave. Quest to Q perhaps?

Yes I thought that Dave came first and Dave Ja Vue (ie Dave+1) was a later innovation. Maybe they had the pun up their sleeves all the time and named
Dave because it would allow a Dave Ja Vue pun later one once the network capacity became available for a +1 channel.

So why are the current adverts for the channel stating that W and its

    New to Freeview?

    It was subscription-only.

The adverts seem to be about the brand new W logo and if you didn't know
the context and that it was a TV channel the advert would make no sense
    at all.

Basically just like many channels it rotates the same shows round and round
in slightly different orders each time.
Now we have Talk TV. So really then, its really Talk radio with pictures?

With that bloke on one channel and the increasingly rude Andedrew Neil on another it like watching some kind of kinder Garden with grown ups.
