• What planet are they on?

Looking around the various channels on Freeview last night, there are some that would appear blank, but if you wait about 30 seconds they burst into
life with some pretty weird content. In the main they seem to go under Revelation TV, and are either bible thumping preachers or some naive attempt
at dramas with moral messages and the like.
Its like a time warp back to USA radio of the 50s but with more relevant scenarios.
Now I have no problem with belief in anything, but these make me feel uncomfortable in the way they seem to assume this one true way and its ours narrative.

These are all streamed channels in the 250 - 300 range. I guess most if
not all the evangelistic ones are US-based. The delay is for the
streamed service to appear, and can be anything from 5 - 30 seconds.
Then there are the channels which are front-ends for multiple streamed
services (such as VisionTV on 264). With my Panasonic, the
multiple-streamed ones do at least respond to the "info" button on the
remote to let you know what TV channel you are watching. With the
religious ones, they don't - press the info button and nothing happens.

Do any of them have any sort of audio explanation of what they are to
    help you out?

As a non-believer, I view all religions with intrigue, curiosity and slight bewilderment. Some people obviously feel a need to "believe" in something
that cannot be proved - and even make a virtue out of the lack of proof.

But I'm just as inclined to see this as a deficiency in me as opposed to a deficiency in the believers. Agree to differ, and all that.

Religions are fine as long as they accept that not everyone believes in
*that* religion or even in *any* religion. Sadly a lot of religions (fervent Christianity or fervent Islam) feel that their way is the *only* way, and
look down on people (*) who don't believe in their way. At best, religions
are a good code for everyone living harmoniously (do as you would be done
by, think of others as well as yourself). Shame that they have to weaken
those excellent messages by bringing in concepts of worship and believe-despite-no-proof ;-) I'm not really a humanist, because they
actively believe that there is no god; I'm more passive that that: "maybe
there is, maybe there isn't - it's all totally irrelevant to me".

(*) Or persecute or kill non-believers.

Very little other than that given on the Samsung voice. I have yet to get
any multi channel selection to work with voice and its well known that most streamed channels are without AD, as nobody thought or agreed to a protocol
    to add it.

Not that I want Netflix or all the other subscription channels but I cannot
get their systems to speak either. The interface has changed and Samsung can
no longer read them, or indeed 555 or the native program guide. It kinds of creates its own.
The main problem is I think that these set makers are relying on the app builders who in turn rely on the set makers with the result that if anything changes, by the time the set maker solves it, the app has changed again and won't work.

You sound like that Lez Barker poem, Church of the wholly undecided.
