iPlayer subtitles on Manhattan STB (and Chromecast)

Sometimes the subtitle timing is ahead or behind speech on my Manhattan
STB, and that quickly becomes damned annoying. What's even more annoying
is that I can't turn the subtitles off. Has anyone else experienced (and
fixed) the same problem? Last night I changed to Chromecast and the
subtitles were in-sync so the problem seems to be with the STB - I'll
try a reset if all else fails.
