• Samsung set oddities

From Brian Gaff@21:1/5 to All on Mon Apr 3 10:47:16 2023
The speaking of menues and some content is all very well, but they do not
seem to be keeping up with developments. For example in the latest software update on their own channels the audio and video vanished for their
streaming films. Turns out that when a sighted person saw it it said that in order to be more helpful in judging the suitability of content I needed to select options and stuff to allow them to work. I'm guessing this was for adult content and the like, but the person could just hit a button to accept all, and it went away. Now if its so important, it cannot surely be beyond Samsung to allow this dialogue to speak as they do many options. Instead
all the blind person hears is button.

Lots of the newer apps do not work with the speech, and nor does the 555 so called accessible program guide either.
In fact a fair number of people who want subscription streaming services
have bought Amazon Fire sticks which seem to have a much better
accessibility interface for stuff like youtube as well.
Come on Samsung, you have shown great commitment in the past but you seem
to leave the blind user out when updating your software, now you have our money.
