From Brian Gaff@21:1/5 to All on Mon Feb 20 09:12:44 2023
I have increasingly become aware that the folk at the helm of Quest, Really etc, seem to get the details wrong of, for example a series like Helicopter
ER. You read the description to see if its one you have seen, as they tend
to run them on several different stations, and at least 1 in six will turn
out to be a different episode to the one in the guide.
Another thing that often occurs is that films might get advertised on some
of the main channels as having AD but do not and the other way around, say captioned, but actually have AD as well.
Also, one of my big complaints is that a film which at the cinema had AD
has it missing formthe TV version, nobody seems to know the reason.
Attention to detail and only half doing a job seems to be taken as OK these days.

It's better than that - the EPG will have something like Helicopter
ER but they will actually broadcast something completely different.

Film Four broadcast something the other day where my surround sound amp
decoded it and everything came out of the rear speakers (on both Freesat
AND Freeview). It reverted to normal operation for the adverts!

Some tvs have a problem whereas if there is ADa and Dolby Atmos trying to be used together, the whole lot becomes a mess similar to what you say.
Somehow, Apple Pluss seem to get around it, but terrestrial and normal sat feeds do not.
You would think that these bods with a brain as big as a planet could get
this right. Of course I'm not pointing the finger at Sony TVs, of course
    not...
