For some reason, Channel 5 remade "All Creatures Great and Small", the >Herriot (Alf White) vet series. They've done a pretty good job IMO,
though I'm not sure _why_ - the original '80s series is on channel 20/60
on weekday afternoons (16:15), and on the whole holds up well - OK, a
_few_ technical aspects (of 40+ year old TV!) we've discussed here, but >really I don't notice anything other than the different shape.
The new series started out as a weekly broadcast - I think it was 21:00
on Thursdays. But it seems to have disappeared - but is still being
plugged across their channels, but only mentioning online. I don't
remember seeing any announcement that they were ceasing the broadcasts, >though.

That does seem to support what I said - that they stopped a regular,
weekly broadcast in the middle of a series. But thanks.

The past few seasons have had 7 episodes. So far there have been six in >season 4, and the one on the 21st is billed as being a Christmas
special.

Ah, I see. I didn't realise they'd had that many series of the remake! I thought one or two at most. How memory fades!
It does seem to be a C5 trait - they will interrupt or pull
series, or change schedules late in the day, often well after
publication of programme guides.
