    Just browsing around this site of vintage photographs and found some
    very interesting stuff

    Tried a search on BBC and got this one of Tacolneston

    If you put Transmitters into the search box you get quite a lot of pics
    of 'Engineer at control desk' and things like that and, for some reason
    that otherwise illudes me, a lot of pictures of the former diplomat and
    MP (and son-in-law of Jim Callaghan) Peter Jay with and without his wife.

    A search for "BUNK" brings some unusual pictures of UK one but also lots
    of foreign one - never seen Pinochet's bunker previously!

    Since this thread is wandering off into search results. Just don't put watersports in if you do not have family filtering enabled on some search engines.
    Anyway, enough silly searches. I can recall Blookmans Park. thee had a huge amount of room there with big curtain arrays and several very high
    verticals. I often wondered why they never used it for anything other than medium wave stuff. I'm assuming it is still there, but what about that
    building and its hot fountain in the front for cooling the transmitters,
    which seemed to be mostly resemble a glass plumbing system rather than an electronic circuit. Brian
