• "Drama" Channel, audio splats last night

From SimonM@21:1/5 to All on Thu Oct 14 10:34:18 2021
Some British detective thing that SWMBO likes
(Inspector Lyndley Mysteries?) - frequent audio
splats (as heard on the TV), at intervals of a few
    secs (say 3" to 15-20").

Not apparent during commercials, nor on other
channels, so I doubt it's our TV (although it
hasn't had a firmware upgrade since purchase,
    circa 2013 - thanks Panasonic!).

They were loud enough to be annoying, but didn't
appear to be 100% mod (the TV might have some sort
of transient limiting algorithm though). I'd think
(as heard) about 8dB below 100% normal modulation
    (IYSWIM).

I have no easy of doing any further diagnosis, but
I was wondering if this kind of thing gets logged
    and is visible on-line...

I had the same on Monday night's 'The Brokenwood Mysteries' on Drama.
Caused by the temporary playout source?

The Alibi channel on Sky (my SWMBO) has also been doing that, no idea
if the cause is the same.

I do know I'd like to view that series but there is no audio description
    done on it.
I guess its just a momentary digital lock thing. I've heard it also on
those who do OBs with digital wireless mikes being used. The older analogue kind just get a bit hissier.
