Unusually for these newsgroups there seems a lack of information of Red
Bee's White City Playout Centre Fire Suppression System activation event
    last week.

I've been keeping up to date with posts on

    https://cleanfeed.thetvroom.com

    (No connection whatsoever)

Day 7 event effects here, for example:

They also have a twitter account.

In brief what I've gleaned, an inert gas injected at high pressure Fire Suppression System, in an equipment room at Red Bee's White City Playout
Centre affected BBC, itv, channel 4 and channel 5.
BBC and itv have a very robust Disaster Recovery system and playout
transferred seamlessly to a parallel Playout Cente in Salford.
Channel 5 seem to have a less robust one, but one nevertheless.
    Channel 4 have nothing.

    Effects are still being felt.

I said itv as well! Doh!

Thanks to Mark Carver in another thread who answered a query:

"> I was going to ask about ITV, heard little about them. Have they been
    affected much?

Not at all. They use Ericsson at Chiswick and Leeds, it's the Red Bee
White City site that's suffered the problem. (Although Ericsson own Red
    Bee anyway) "

Not so. C4 are broadcasting from a DR site at a secret location, but
it's not too far out of London.

Their DR site I gather is rather old, and they were planning to replace
it soon with another solution, but that project has been running late

    Ah! Thanks Mark.

    Do cleanfeed-tvroom know?

I miss being in the action! Don't even have my old contacts, they've all retired or gone on to other things!
