• Permanent cue dot on Channel 5 programmes tonight

From NY@21:1/5 to All on Fri Oct 1 00:09:26 2021
I noticed a cue dot (square in top right hand corner, top-left white, bottom-right black) throughout tonight's episode of All Creatures Great
and Small. I checked the fragments of the programme before and after in
my recording and it was on that too. It seemed to be displayed only
during the programme itself, not the adverts or trailers.

Is it an symptom of Channel 5 having to use its backup playout centre
after the fire-prevention system knackered the master playout servers?

Yes. It signifies that they are broadcasting from the back bedroom of a terraced house in Luton.

Maybe its being supplied from a Sky Q system patched into the terrestrial system and Sky want to make sure they get the credit?

Shush, that's the secret backup playout bunker!!

It's been on Freeview Channel 5, 5-and-a-bit, 5 USA and 5 Star since
    the incident.

The "only during progammes" observation seems to be because it goes in and
out of vision along with the channel logo/DOG in the top left, which they
    don't show over the ads/trailers/sponsorships.

looked it up on Google Streeview. Just a very ordinary street of semi
