Something like a broadcaster's logo blacked out or even (cheekily!) a
    copyright symbol?

I did wonder about that, but it seemed to fade in gradually, and where
it was on-screen isn't where I'd expect to find either.

Bill: I _did_ wonder if someone had noticed the presenter had his flies
undone or similar! But I think he was only shown waist-up.

As for the shite rating: you watch your shite, and I'll watch mine (-:

He [Alfred Kinsey] wouldn't ask 'Have you ever slept with a horse?' He would say, 'When did you first sleep with a horse?' [RT 2018/5/5-11]

No, the black oval did cover roughly his crotch area, more over his right
leg. Maybe he dressed to the right ;-)

Very strange. I remember an episode of either (Inspector) Lewis or else Endeavour which opened with a night-time aerial view of an Oxford college.
The moon was clearly visible, but someone in "post" had covered the moon
itself with a "peak black" disc ie blacker that the glare that surrounded
the moon and blacker even than the rest of the sky. It looked *very* odd.

I saw another much fainter same-shaped blob at 17:59. It seemed to be something to do with the camera, and it looked like the shadow of the cameraman's head appeared in the presenter's spotlight just
    afterwards.

That must have been a very low-angle light somewhere behind the camera for
it to cast a shadow of cameraman, camera and other crew on the staircase
    behind the presenter.
