Police stop for mot ALMOST expired?!

I was stopped by an idiot pig today for my MOT about to expire tomorrow. So, it's not illegal then is it? Plus, I got a new MOT a few days ago, but because the DVLA's system is so slow, it's not yet registered with the police. 5 or 10 minutes of my
and their time wasted, then he says "please carry your certificate with you for the next week as our system doesn't show you have it yet". Yeah right. Their problem, I ain't doing their work for them. Way too much money going into the police force,
clearly not enough real crimes to solve so they're now pestering motorists driving legally.
