A DRIVER has been fined after driving through a red traffic light in Somerset.

A police spokesperson said “the driver initially argued lights were faulty” but later added that “someone else was driving at the time”.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “Red light offence (04/23) from Somerset.

“The driver initially argued lights were faulty but later changed his mind and stated that someone else was driving at the time.

“Mag Court (26/10) defendant didn't enter a plea, case proved in their absence.”

Police said the driver was fined £620 costs, was given a £220 fine, three points, and £88 victim surcharge.

    Can't both things be true?

The Guardian ran article in the wake of that case - reminding its
entitled bien-pensant readers that they are of the class most likely
already to be guilty of this subterfuge.

Did your wife ask you to take her points for her that time?

No, of course, she didn't. She wouldn't.

But you thought her misfortune in getting GATSO'd was absolutely
hilarious and said so in this very NG.
