A cyclist in her thirties has been sexual assaulted on a country road by a passerby in a white van.
Thames Valley Police are investigating the incident which occurred on Forest Road towards Twyford at around 8:30pm on Wednesday, July 5.
The offender, who has been described as a white man, sped up behind the woman and slapped her on the bottom.
As well as a sexual assault, this has also been described by police as a public order offence.
Investigating officer, Daniel Hardwick of Reading AIU, said: “Thames Valley Police takes any form of violence against women and girls extremely seriously, and we are investigating this incident thoroughly.
“We are appealing anyone who witnessed this incident or have any information about what happened please contact us.
“We are specifically appealing for anyone with dash cam footage that may have been driving down Forest Road towards Twyford Road at around 8.30pm on Wednesday 5 July.
“Anyone with information can call police on 101 and quote reference number 43230297916.
“Alternatively, you can make a report online or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111 and via their website.”
