A major supermarket in Glasgow will be offering customers free biking help this month.

As the Official Fresh Food Partner of the 2023 Cycling World Championships, Lidl on Victoria Road will offer a free bike servicing surgery on Saturday, July 8 to celebrate the ‘One Month to Go’ milestone.

The surgery, which will take place between 9am and 12pm, will offer a bike safety check-up from fully qualified mechanics, alongside necessary basic fixes and maintenance advice.

A&E repairs will also be on offer and will include replacing worn brake pads, brake and gear cables, tightening headsets and adjusting gears.

For anything more serious, customers will be given a ‘Dr’s Note’ listing what’s needed to get their bike running smoothly again.

Ross Millar, Lidl’s regional director for Scotland, said: "The countdown is on for this year’s 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships, and we want to support our customers to get themselves and their bikes ‘race ready’.

"There’s no reason why anyone in Glasgow with a bike of their own shouldn’t be able to feel like a champion this summer and a free bike surgery is one way to help them do just that – as Official ‘Fresh Food Partners’ we are proud to deliver
this at their convenience alongside their normal weekly shop.

The UCI Cycling World Championships will take place from Thursday, August 3 until Sunday, August 13.
