A man who died days after a crash in Grimsby has been named by his family as police confirmed two men have been charged with murder.

Reece Braithwaite, 35, was reportedly cycling on Carnforth Crescent, on the Grange estate, at around 5.20pm on Sunday (May 21) when he was struck by a grey Vauxhall Crossland before the vehicle allegedly "fled the scene", according to police.

Reece was found to have suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment but he sadly died on Wednesday (May 24)

Humberside Police said Reeceā€™s family "continue to be supported by specially trained officers and our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time".

Meanwhile, two men who were arrested in connection with Reece's death have now been charged with murder. Liam Boydell, 22, of Boulevard Avenue, Grimsby, and Thomas McGloughlin, 19, of Rutland Street, Grimsby, have been remanded into custody to appear at
Grimsby Magistrates' Court tomorrow (Saturday, May 27).

A 20-year-old man who was also arrested in connection with the incident has since been released under investigation while police continue with their enquiries.

Following the third arrest on Thursday, Humberside Police Det Ch Insp Alan Curtis said: "Understandably given the nature of this incident it will be concerning to the local community, however I want to offer my reassurance that we have already made a
number of enquiries to establish the circumstances and ascertain exactly what has happened."
