• Hotpoint fridge water filter issue

From Tim+@21:1/5 to All on Wed Apr 7 18:35:57 2021
We have a mega Hotpoint fridge, American style with two doors, wide fridge, narrow freezer and with an ice and filtered water dispenser.

About every 6 months a light comes on to tell us to change the filter.
Mostly I ignore it and just press the reset button and we’re good for
    another 6 months. ;-)

As it happens though, I did treat it to a new filter about 2 months ago.

Anyhow, the “change filter” light had come on again and this time it won’t
reset. I’ve tried removing and reinserting the filter and turning the
fridge off at the wall but it still won’t reset.

I certain that the “change filter” light is just time triggered, there’s nothing smart about it.

Any suggestions? It’s just a mild annoyance really. Filtered water still comes out. I’m just curious as to why it won’t reset this time.

You just hold the reset down for 8 seconds (according to Hotpoint)
